We welcome donations of books, comics, sheet music, stamps & other collectables, CDs and DVDs.

Our store is on Low Petergate near the Minster, and is accessible by car when the road is open until 10.30am, and when it reopens at 5pm. Depending on the size of your donation it might be possible for you to reach us on foot. York City Centre is highly accessible by bus, train or taxi. For more information about transport into the City Centre you can visit http://www.itravelyork.info/buses

If it is difficult for you to get to us then we also offer a collection service. If you would like our volunteer driver to collect your donations then either ask in store or contact us on 01904 652749 and one of the team will take your details so that we can arrange a collection. Alternatively you can email oxfamshopf0608@oxfam.org.uk

Update: March 2018 – we currently have a vacancy for a volunteer driver to help us with our collections service.  Details can be found here.  Unfortunately, until we have recruited this new volunteer driver we will be limited in the collections service we are able to provide.  If you would like to use our collections service please still contact us but be aware there may be a longer wait than usual.

What can your donations do?

Your support is invaluable, and helps Oxfam accomplish so much good around the world. Your donations help fund projects such as textbooks for children, school dinners, building homes, and planting trees. Oxfam does this and so much more.

  • One paperback sold for £2.50 could buy a textbook for a needy child wanting to learn.
  • A CD sold for £3 could buy school dinners for 50 hungry children in Tanzania.
  • A DVD sold for £5 could pay for 15 trees to be planted in Ethiopia.

Oxfam’s ongoing efforts across the globe include vital development work such as combating climate change and the economic crisis, promoting health, education, gender equality, the right to be heard, and fair trade.

Even small donations aid the great effort!
