York is a great city to live in. It’s friendly, has beautiful architecture and most importantly offers a wide range of activities all year round. As the weather is beginning to warm, and the days are getting longer, there has never been a more opportune time to go out into the city centre and explore some of the art and culture that York has to offer.
York Open Studios is an event started in 2001 that allows members of the public to visit local artists’ studios and exhibitions in York and the surrounding area. Starting on the 15th April and running for the next fortnight over the weekends, its not to late to get out an experience this wonderful event.
A wide variety of artists are participating from jewellery designers such as Ellie Crosby, to print makers such as Jane Dingum and photographers such as Alun Kirby. The event also features sculptors; ceramics, collages, furniture designers, wood work and various other forms of mixed media, meaning that there is something on offer for everyone.
